Will it EVER stop raining??

There was me thinking, back in May, that summer was just around the corner. Bloody long corner!! I cannot remember ever being so frustrated with the weather. This time last year I was holed up the office peering longingly out of the window at the sunshine, dreaming of what I would be doing when 'this' weather was around in 2007. Well some vain hope that was! I might just as well have stayed at work for another year and made a bit more money..........wait a minute..........stayed at work?! Who said that?...............I'm forgetting how much fun I've had being at home with time to spend doing whatever I please. Going away on holiday with 'im indoors (careful..... getting a bit starry eyed there, rose coloured specs in operation I think), staying with my best buddy up in Scotland (now that's more like it!) and generally having more time and energy for family and friends. Not that I've forgiven the weather yet. There had just better be some good weeks ahead for us. The boat thinks we don't love him (it's definitely a him because of the name, Little Bruv, now how can you say "she" about a boat with that name?)

The garden looks good when the sun shines. All the planting at the end of May has paid off and we are awash (rather unfortunate choice of words there I think - sorry Yorkshire) with flowers.

'im indoors has decided to do some overtime during the school holidays but his boss is very accommodating and has said he can take time off for days away whenever he likes. This is great news as we are at the whim of the weather when it comes to boating so having an arrangement that means we can go away at a day's notice is perfect. Caravanning is a bit different as we have to book ahead for that, especially in the school holidays, but then it's not so important that the weather is dry as we can sit and read our books in any weather. Tonight is meant to be a "fish and chip supper" get together at the boat club but I think that will be cancelled as it's been pouring all day and it's not warm enough to sit outside for any length of time. It's another spoilt weekend as far as the boat is concerned. Roll on August.........I'm keeping everything crossed.......
