The Wedding

As promised here are the first pictures of our great day.

The Venue

Me with my fascinator and Noodle 2 with hers!!

The happy family.

We arrived at the hotel on Friday with plenty of time to unpack and then spent time relaxing in the newly opened pool. The sauna and jacuzi were wonderful too. Just what we needed after a hectic couple of weeks.
Mum surpassed herself. She managed to get into the pool and have a swim. Because the water was holding her up she was able to move without a walking frame for the first time since her injury in October last year. It was quite an emotional moment as she moved easily through the water with no contraptions around her.
In the evening we all had a meal together to celebrate daughter's forthcoming marriage. Noodle 2 slept soundly in her pushchair all through the meal.

We had Noodle 2 in our room for our two night stay so we didn't need an alarm as she was awake at 7am for her feed. Having showered I made my way up to daughter's room where the hairdresser was already working on the chief bridesmaid. The makeup artist was there too and it was all systems go! At around 10am the two little bridesmaids arrived to have their hair plaited with flowers and to change into their dresses and shoes. I had my hair and makeup done too of course and I rushed off to change into my outfit ready to unveil the transformation to my best mate for her approval. I'm happy to report that she assured me that I looked gorgeous and thus encouraged I made my way up to reception to greet the guests.
The entrance of the bridesmaids and pageboys, followed by the bride and her father was very emotional, especially as the groom burst into tears as soon as he saw them coming down the aisle towards him. I was amazed how grown up and elegant my little girl looked and beautiful of course. From what I could see through the tears that is.
Noodle 2 slept soundly in her pushchair all through the marriage service.
Noodle 1 on the other hand was like a spinning top. She was soooo excited and couldn't sit still for a moment. She looked absolutely gorgeous too and her Daddy was obviously very proud of her.
After the ceremony we enjoyed a short break and a glass of bucks fizz before the madness that is the photographer descended upon us. He had a list of groups to work through which helped the process and the ushers helped to gather the people required. Half way through it started to rain quite hard and we all had to make a run for it but that just gave us a chance to enjoy another glass of bubbly before the sun came out again and the photo shoot continued. Everybody was in good humour and happy to relax and wait their turn. Of course there were a couple of people who blankly refused to have their photo taken and stayed inside. So the bride and groom won't have pictures of those who didn't join in and may, in time, forget that they were even there. All rather childish I thought. It's family history after all.
I wanted to post some more pictures but for some reason the add picture function isn't working grrrrrrr.
So I'll stop here and tell you all about the meal, the speeches and the evening when I can show you in pictures as well as words.

It looked beautiful and so did you! Yes, give it to us in instalments. I'm more likely to read it that way!

I love the Pix of you and Noodle#2. You two are quite a pair. The wedding looks and sounds like it was a fantastic day. You are blessed. So funny about the eyebrows. I notice as I get older there is less to pluck or maybe I have overplucked. Oh and a few hairs have missed the gray stage and went right to white. I feel I've been gypped.

Wonderful wedding Flick. You look radiant, as does the bride. We had a good wedding too but I refused to wear a hat or a fascinator!
