We've had a lovely week since we came back from Dorset and first I must just say that all the friendly comments I've had from my new blogging friends has added to my happy feelings. I can't believe how many people left a comment on my L8ers post, which was only a few words. I feel very lucky to have found so many lovely people in cyberspace. I never expected it, I thought I would be talking to myself in blogland. It's lovely to know you're all out there, some the other side of the world! Amazing!! Hugs for all of you.
The wedding plans are moving on apace. With less than six weeks to go to the BIG DAY it's beginning to come up in everyday conversation. A sure sign that it's on everybody's mind. Whilst up in Scotland with bezzie mate I think I told you I purchased another fascinator because I had seen my original purchase on Eastenders (albeit in black). The "Perth Fascinator" (sounds like a breed of chicken, probably something to do with the feathers) so named because I bought it in a very posh hat shop in Perth, is much more befitting the Mother of the Bride. Bezzie mate thought so too so that sealed it.
Last week I took the Perth Fascinator, secured carefully in it's box, to the hairdressers for a "dress rehearsal" or should that be a hat rehearsal, or maybe a fascinator rehearsal (now it's just getting silly, stick to the point woman!) Daughter and Noodle 2 came along too to give approval or otherwise. We tried it on the left side front, the right side front, left side to the back, right side to the back and settled on......oh damn, I can't remember!! Wait a minute I'll have to stand in front of the mirror and work it out........ right, now I've got it, right side to the back; so that it sits just behind my ear. Now that sounds like it's behind my ear which of course it won't be but I think you get the picture.
After my usual trim, my hair was chopped with scissors that only cut some of the hair to thin it out. Then it was blown dry and waxed into shape. (It was so well set that I could have got away with not doing anything with it the next morning but I thought of all the dust and stuff that would have stuck to the wax and had to wash it. Sorry if you're eating, there were no spiders, honest.........) I was very pleased with the result and so was daughter. 'im indoors even noticed that I'd had it done!! Now that is a first!
In two weeks time we're have a makeup rehearsal. Now that's is bound to be fun!
Perth Fascinator is safely ensconced back in the wardrobe. Now I just have to get around to trying on the scaffolding with the outfit just to make sure it all fits together (I know, I know, I should have done this ages ago). Daughter keeps nagging me about it so I'll have to do it just to shut her up. Also I have to walk around the house with my wedding shoes on so that they're comfortable on the day.
There are only a few loose ends to tie up like writing down the groups we want for the photographer and letting the florist know that it's a round cake, not a square one. Don't know if that makes any difference to what flowers are used but anyway we think we should tell her, especially as we did say originally that it would be square. We've also got to buy the chocolates for the favours but that can wait until a few days before. Is there anything else??? Think I'd better make a proper list don't you?!

I'm sorry to lower the tone of your lovely blog, but every time I read the word fascinator, I think it's something slightly saucy !!!
I'm sorry Dusty - but the Fascinator sounds more like a vibrator to me....a very good vibrator! :0)
Now do please take pictures for us all.
The fascinator is certainly living up to its name. It's definitely fascinating me! I'm with aims. We need to see a picture, preferably of you wearing it.
auntiegwen, aims and mean mom - well really! Looks as though I'm going to have to get a pic or throw cold water over the lot of you. I presume you'd all prefer a pic? Watch this space. Flick xx
Yeah....... What IS this fascinator? We are intrigued!
