Noodle Gem

Our little 4 year old princess visited us straight from school. She made us laugh so much when we were playing "I Spy". It was her turn so she starts:

"I spy with my little eye, something beginning with yer."

"Yacht", said Grandad referring to an ornament on the mantlepiece.

"No", she said.

"Yellow bananas", says I. (I know, a bit far fetched but I was struggling).

"No", she said.

We gave up after that. "Tell us, what begins with "yer"?"

UNIFORM, she cried!!!

Of course, silly us.

Smart girl ! Silly grandparents !
Enjoy that age, it's so precious

I used to love when mine played hide and seek by just covering their own face with their hands.

Priceless! And apropos Auntie G's remark, Charlie now plays 'peek-a-boo' by covering his ears!

I'm sure that Noodle feels very sorry for her poor 'elderly' grandparents - not being much good at I Spy! ;0)

The wee gem! No sides to them at that age. How lovely that you have her in your life and that she has you.

I can just picture her, in all her seriousness, and being right of course!

They are gorgeous aren't they. Can just imagine her serious little face. And the joy of winning that round! I always think we should write these little gems down because apart from a very few, most get forgotten. A x

Definitely a gem! We've had a few of those phonetic I spys. Izzy won't allow clusters either, if it begins with 's' it has to be followed by a vowel, anything like 'st' or 'sp' begins with something different in her eyes!

How funny. We are getting the same sort of things from Grandson - I guess they are both doing sounds at school! It's like learning it all over again for me. M :-)
