First I was very brave. I went with daughter to choose an outfit for me (the Mother of the Bride). The first thing I went for was a trouser suit with a very nice lacy top with matching jacket. The colour was good too. Then I realised I had immediately chosen an outfit that was bang in the middle of my comfort zone as I do not, as a rule, where anything else but trousers and tops. So........I took a deep breath and chose three dress and jacket combinations to try on.Then I was very brave. Taking my courage in both hands, I came out of the cubicle, (yes, right into the shop!) wearing each outfit in turn so that daughter could say yay or nay. Luckily we both liked one particular outfit.
Then I was very very brave. I bought the outfit!
Now I've got to be very brave indeed. To make the most of the gorgeous clothes I have bought I need to go and get fitted for (come closer I need to whisper) undergarments. You see I need some scaffolding for the boobs and a couple of blocks of reinforced concrete to control the arse. Gawd knows how I'm going to manage to allow someone to sort that lot out. H-e-l-p!!
Daughter says we need to go this week so that we have time to change our minds about the dress if we have to (oooh she is bossy, don't know where she gets it from!) So that'll be me - exposing all the wobbly bits for someone else to shore up. A bit of wattle and daub will be the order of the day I expect.
Anybody got any pollyfilla??

Goodness, the mind boggles! Wish I could be a fly on the wall when they put in all the concrete & pollyfilla!
Bet you look very nice in the new outfit!
....Not a pretty sight I can assure you Maggie May, but I'm hoping it will work magic for me.
Flick x
As it happens, Dusty, I have some pollyfilla left over from the wardrobe repairs:) - just kidding. I'm sure you will look just great. So pleased you found a lovely outfit. Now you need to find a fancy little bit of nonsense for your head. M xx
You are very brave to show your legs. Mine haven't seen the light of day since the 70s.
Thanks for visiting me. Good luck with the reinforcements.
How exciting!!
You have been tagged! Please pop over to see!
No, seriously Margot, please hold on to the pollyfilla for me I may need it come July! I'm really looking forward to the "bit of nonsense" for my head and I hope it's going to be just that! Fx
My legs haven't been out in public for many years either Mean Mom and they won't be this time either as the dress is mid calf length. Daughter won't let me wear my crocs though. How mean is that! Fx
Thanks for popping in casdock. Did you do any dusting while you were here? Fx
Why do women hardly wear hats these days? So much class in a hat I think....
You will look beautiful - so shiny and happy - and the makeup and underpinnings will only enhance the whole effect. People will wonder if it's you getting married!! Perhaps some vow renewals at the same time?? Nah - don't want to steal your girl's thunder - but perhaps the whole kit and kaboodle would come in handy for your own later.... :)
Sorry, Flick, but I laughed out loud at the picture of polyfilla and scaffolding!! You did cheer I up ... but, you will be gorgeous anyway. Kxxx
