Spring!

Spring has sprung
The grass is ris
I wonder where my snowman is?

A little ditty my mum used to recite when I was a child. Strange how those little things stick with you.

I've added Mignon to my dusting list. Looks like she's had problems with a"job's worth". Where do we find these people.

Spent a lovely few hours in the garden today. It was really warm out there and I was able to work happily without a coat of any kind. I managed to prune all the roses and the Virginia creeper that takes over the garage wall every year. Seems very little to do for such reward. 'im indoors finished off the "digging over". He does it every year. Goes round all the beds just digging indiscriminately. We lose a few plants this way each spring. This year's tally of "dug over" plants includes tulips, michaelmas daisies and pansies. You see, if they are small and not in flower he doesn't know what they are so he just digs them up! I've given up complaining about it. He loves doing it so I think I should be grateful for that and what's a few plants between friends? Makes me smile though.

Noodle came round with her Daddy yesterday. We had such fun! We were cutting out shapes and making patterns with glue and sparkle. She had safety scissors of course and she said to me, "Nana, be careful, you'll cut myself". What a cuteee!!!

I think the sunshine has put me in a really good mood! Roll on the summer! I watched an item on The One Show last week that said we should try to get ten minutes of sun on our skins every day (presuming it's sunny of course), without sunscreen, to improve our body's production of vitamin D. I'm sure that makes sense as I always feel better for some sunshine. This feel good feeling has got to get me through the funeral on Wednesday. Not looking forward to that at all but then it's not meant to be enjoyable is it.

Hope all my blogging friends have had a share of this good weather.

Like your little ditty!
Yes, I also went out gardening this afternoon. Chopped back honeysuckle that was taking over. Bit of a thug if you let it loose.
Harry is a bit like that, digging things up. As we only have a small garden, he leaves it all to me as I have complained so often.
Noodle sounds such a lovely little girl. It is great doing pasting & sticking with them.
Yes, we are supposed to get out in the sunshine for 10 mins a day. That is my lunch time duty at school!

Here it is, I heard England is always cold and gray and yet you have had much better weather than we have here on the Oregon Coast! We had snow last night. At sea level!

I would love to get out and garden. Our back yard is a true bog.

We've been having snow for the last three days...not a ton of it...but enough for it to stay. So - no gardening for me for a while yet.

Yes, we had a brilliant, sunshiney day today, with nearly all the snow gone and melted.

However, we have terrible colds at the mo' so sneezing is very much in evidence.

Will be thinking of you on Wednesday. You will be fine, and you'll see Noodle again, as well. Big Hugs to you and 'im indooors. k xxx

Hi Flick, isn't it great that we're getting some gardening weather. And the tadpoles are swimming around in my pond too! Signs of Spring! M xx

Maggie May - You reminded me that I chopped back some honeysuckle too. Yes, it is a thug but luckily it's take the chopping and still come back covered in flowers.
Did you get some sunshine at lunch time today? Flick x

mom of three - don't believe all you hear! We have some gorgeous warm days in the early spring. Could still turn nasty though! No guarantee to be frost free before the end of May. When does it warm up where you are? Flick x

aims - you've still got it all to look forward to then. Flick x

T&C - Thanks for hugs. Is it snowing again yet? Keep warm won't you. Flick xx

mother's place - Oooooh I love tadpoles, such fun. Our pond is just a water feature but the birds love it and they always entertain us when we're out there. Flick x

I haven't cut down my dead stuff in the garden, yet, but now the birds are taking it for nest building. They are struggling to fly off with bits which are 2 to 3 times as long as they are. They are very comical and must have very untidy nests!

Oooh! Cut and stick. My favourite. Hope the funeral goes as well as possible.

Merry Weather - thanks for popping in. Lovely to meet you. Flick xx

Mother's Place - Thanks for the award. Couldn't be greedy and take two, unlike mean mom's party where I had two pieces of that delicious chocolate cake. Flick xx

Mother of this lot - I'll do your garden if you do my dusting! Flick xx
