Another busy weekend has come and gone. Daughter and new baby came with me to see Great Grandma/Nan/Mum on Saturday. It was good to see my Mum coping well with her recently acquired disabilities and sad too of course. But she makes the best of everything and is so pleased with her little triumphs that it seems selfish to be down about things when she clearly isn't. Mum was thrilled with her new great granddaughter and baby performed beautifully. Daughter displayed her new role with obvious pride and confidence. Much to my delight!
Sunday was Mother's Day itself and future son-in-law cooked us all a wonderful roast dinner. All the Mum's present, including me, were spoiled rotten. Son and Noodle were there too which really made my day. It was the first time we had all been together since daughter's baby was born and it felt very special.
Leaving (in my head) son and ex to work things out for themselves has been very good for me. They did indeed work things out so that we will see noodle at least twice a month which ain't the best plan in the world but at least we are sure of when we will see her which is the most important thing. She was a star as always. Daddy had given her some chewing gum having at first questioned whether she was allowed to have it of course. Noodle said, "Mummy said I could have chewing gum but I have to throw it away when the smell goes". Priceless!!

Dear Dusty, so glad that your Mother's day celebrations went well. And very pleased to hear that your Son is working things out. How hard it must be for you all. Noodle will give back every bit of love you give - and it's great that you will have regular visits. Hugs from me xx.
Glad you had a lovely Mother's Day and that the problems are working out. Also that you will see Noodle regularly. These family reunions are very necessary, I think & the children do love them as they grow up. (Till a certain age!)
Thanks M and Maggie May I do feel much better about things now. Thanks for your encouraging words. Flick x
