On Line...

Up Up and Away.....they're off. I've been exchanging texts with son over the last 24 hours as he has been preparing to take off for his holiday in the US. They took off this morning from Gatwick and as I type they still have an hour and quarter flight time before they land in Las Vegas. We have our invitations for the on-line wedding and just need to log on at the right time to see the wedding live. Fantastic eh! But I'd rather be there with him. Still very disappointed that I can't be with him but, being positive, he is really excited and optimistic so I'm just looking forward to a new experience. He knows I/We will be with him in spirit and we're cracking open a bottle of bubbles to celebrate with them. My Mum will be watching the wedding too on her laptop. She's 86 this year and I bet she never dreamt of anything like this!

At home, baby granddaughter is 16 weeks old and becoming a proper little person. She delights us with her numerous dimples appearing and disappearing as her face changes. The cleft chin has had pride of place this week but who knows what we'll see next week! She's very chatty too. A real star!

Noodle's visit was a complete joy. She helped Drandans (Grandad to you and me) in the garden. We now have two pots with thousands of seeds in each, lovingly covered with compost and watered (well, drowned actually) with a large pebble positioned for artistic effect in each. I've promised to look after them until her next visit. We're calling them Pot Noodles!!

Your going to have to show us when you "Pot Noodles" bloom. I showed my daughter the wedding dresses and she informed me she would love either dress for her prom. (Yea right.) My 15 year old in a wedding dress. NOT! They are both beautiful dresses. Congrats again on your sons marriage.

Hope your Pot Noodles take! I know what it is like not being at a son's wedding, as mine got married in Japan & told me afterwards. No pictures, nothing! At least you are part of it even though it is by web cams.

Online wedding is still very exciting. No dancing on the tables at the virtual after wedding party. I know what you're like.

New granddaughter sound great. I do hope something grows in those pots. Do you have a crafty backup plan??

My daughter got married in the USA when we were flat broke. I borrowed the fare, the marriage eventually broke up and she blamed me for letting her marry him! Kids, who'd 'ave 'em, but we would never be without them would we?

Me too, I love the Pot Noodles! - how daft and sweet. Hope the wedding went well, want to hear if you dressed up as suggested.

Whoa boy. Those pots should be very interesting once they sprout. We tend to have a few of those each year around here as well.

Make sure you post a photo, maybe have a contest to see who can name all the various varieties, tangled together!

Glad you had a great time. It'll be fun when second grandchild is old enough to join in!
