Mother's Place is in the Wrong has kindly tagged me. So here goes, first the "how to" bit.
1.The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
3. The player then tags 5 people, goes to their Blogs and leaves them a comment telling them they've been tagged and asking them to read their Blog.
Q. What were you doing 10 years ago?
A. I was living where I am now but working full time for the Probation Service. Son was in the Air Force serving in Germany so we were popping over there to see him quite often.
Q. Name 5 snacks you enjoy.
A. Snacks are my downfall so probably 5 isn't enough but top of the list would be chocolate followed in no particular order by, crisps, belgian bun, brazil nuts (preferrably chocolate coated), humous (with crisps to scoop it up).
Q. Things I would do if I were a billionaire
A. Buy an island in a warm sea, live on it with my family and have everything we needed delivered. We'd have to have a big motor boat each so we could visit other places and of course a couple of jets for longer journeys. The grandkids would learn everything they needed from the internet and would not have to live in this dangerous world unless they chose to. I'd have a couple of holiday mansions too so you could all visit of course.
Q. Five jobs that I have had
A. Washer upper in a Woolworth's cafe; Typist in a typing pool (I can still remember the noise of 50 manual typwriters all going at once!) Office Manager; Network Administrator; Mother & Grandmother (same job just bigger)
Q. Three bad habits
A. Now that's an easy one. Where to start???? Biting my nails; eating too much; nagging 'im indoors to distraction etc etc......
Q. Five places I have lived
A. Brighton; Palmers Green (North London); Wood Green (North London); Hornsey (North London); Peterborough.
Q. Five people I want to know more about:
Her on the Hill
Family Affairs
Maggie May
Mom of three
Mother of this lot
Time for tea and cakes
Scrappy Sue
I know, I know that's seven. But with so many friends to find out about, what's a girl to do??
Sorry in advance it you've been tagged already with these questions, just ignore them if so 'cos I'll be able to see the answers on your blog in any case.
I went to my first committee meeting at the boat club this morning. No surprises about the committee I have to say, we have the bossy one; the grumpy one; the fixer (male) who takes on ALL the jobs to do with repairing, replacing, painting, plumbing and digging; the fixer (female) who deals with shopping, cooking, cleaning and tidying up, neither of these people able to delegate it seems; the clown who tried to make a joke of every situation; the diplomat who tried to please everybody and the commodore (touches forlock) who tried to keep it all together. I'm sure you'll recognise them. Not sure how I will fit in with this motley crew (boat club, crew, get it??) but I'm sure I'll have fun doing it. Steady as you go, aye aye skipper.
It was lovely to be by the river again. The boat still has it's winter coverings on and is looking a little forelorn but we intend to go down there again this week to get it ready for action. That means taking the covers off, putting the batteries back on (they've been in the garage charging over the winter) starting up the engine, filling the water tank and generally getting everything ship shape (well, cruiser shape) for summer cruising. Then we can start planning some time away on the river. Can't wait!! Some people have already been out, brave souls, but as it's already the middle of April we should get our skates on and get down there. Trying to fit our pastimes in with our various family visits is sometimes quite a juggling act but I love it all if I'm honest. It's a lovely busy time full of anticipation of happy times. The sort of retirement I had planned, even though sometimes it's all very tiring, I wouldn't have it any other way. Losing Noodle's other grandad has brought home to us again that every day is precious and we shouldn't waste time waiting to enjoy ourselves. The only time we have is now so let's get on with it!!

see, this is why i don't do committees anymore! having said that, i have somehow found myself on the netball committee this winter! what sort of boat do u have? sounds like fun!
and as for the blog award - i figured that out - many thanks anyway! i just put it in a post, rather than on my sidebar. no worries :)
We've had some good canal holidays. Totally different world. Then I started to suffer from claustrophobia, in the cabin, as soon as it was dark outside and I had panic attacks. Oh dear! I am wondering whether I could give it another go? Not sure.
If you're popular, you're popular. I had trouble with five!
Thanks, it was fun!
Thank you for popping in and for the tag - Margot has tagged me as well - will give it some thought over the next few days now I'm back. Lx
scrappysue - of course it counts! It was fun to read too, thanks.
We have a river cruiser will post some pics when we start using it again. That thing with committees, every time I come off one I vow never to go on again but maybe this will be different right? Flick xx
meanmom - what a shame you had a problem on your canal boat. We love staying overnight on the boat and are sometimes away for days (weather permitting). If you're tempted to have another go, maybe you'll think differently. They are not all cramped inside. Hope you decide to try again. Flick xx
momofthree - Can't believe you struggled to find 5, I'm sure people will be visiting your lovely blog very soon. Flick xx
family affairs - looking forward to reading your tag. Flick xx
I've already done this one Flick. Thanks for thinking of me though!
Hi Flick, very interesting answers - I've lived in Palmers Green too! Funny. Margot xx

MOTL - Sorry you got tagged twice, no worries, I'll pop over and have read.. Flick xx
Mothers Place - Can't believe you lived in Palmers Green too!! We were there between 1969 and 1971. You? Don't worry I'll be boring you with boating stories soon enough! Hugs. Flick xx
